| Bruce Lee's Master Subject of Biopics
We all know that teacher Ip Man promoted Chinese kung fu around the world. He's also the teacher of my idol Bruce Lee. So when I took this role I put a lot of pressure on myself," he said. Yen's reverence for Ip's legacy is testimony to his storied reputation. Born in Foshan in 1893, Ip started training around 1903 in wing chun. He arrived in Hong Kong in the 1940s to escape the Communist takeover of the mainland. In Hong Kong, he started out teaching kung fu to restaurant workers but broadened his reach to hundreds of students, including Lee, before passing away in 1972. Lee, who died in 1973 at age 32 from swelling of the brain, studied under Ip for five years, according to his official biography on the Bruce Lee Foundation Web site. The movie starring Yen isn't the only production about Ip Man in the works.

Maybe have to go back to work. Not something I want my 89 year old mother doing...how about you? We are seeing a lot of the boomer having not put a lot back for retirement and in a recession enviroment a market loss could put off retriement for 5 to 8 years to make up for. It's better to have a plan and not need it then to need a plan and not have one... The best laid plans are not constructed under pressure... Do it now sit down with an advisor a CPA, CEP, CFP or a RFC and review assets and plan for the worst. and where do you want to be in 5 year or 10 year or in retirement. Robert Arnold - CEPWausau, WIThanks for all the advice, Robert.J WHAT DO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT? (2/12/08) OK, it's one of those weeks when I really have no idea what to talk about.

Hug Obama close, Mr McCain, and you’ll beat him
How do you solve a problem like Obama? I refer to the immense difficulty of running against him. Senator Hillary Clinton has found that out the hard way. She clearly assumed as recently as Christmas that it would be relatively easy. And you can see why. She had all the party machinery, all the chits accumulated over two decades, the biggest brand name in Democratic politics, a former president actively campaigning for her, a majority of the black vote, the women’s vote, the Hispanic vote – and a set of policy positions that were almost identical to the black freshman senator with a funny name that sounds like Bin Laden. Only last December she predicted it would all be over by February 5. And yet on every score she has been bested so thoroughly she barely knows even now what hit her.

US strikes at terror target in Somalia
The U.S. Navy fired at least one missile into a southern Somali town before dawn Monday, targeting a terrorism suspect as an Islamic group with links to al-Qaida appears to be gathering sway again in this lawless African nation. Residents and police in Dobley said at least eight people, including four children, were seriously injured when a home was destroyed. The attack was confirmed by U.S. officials, who said only that the target was a "known al-Qaida terrorist." The U.S. military has staged several attacks on suspected extremists in Somalia over the past year amid fears the Horn of Africa country could become a haven for terrorists. "As we have repeatedly said, we will continue to pursue terrorist activities and their operations wherever we may find them," Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said in Washington.
System may boost bus safety
While sweeping changes are unlikely, Rutherford County school board members say they will consider less expensive options to bolster school bus safety following an alleged attack on a 14-year-old girl riding a bus. Many parents have called for bus monitors to accompany drivers a solution, district officials say, would cost taxpayers more than $3 million a year. .
Brazilian entrepreneurs in US make tidy sums
The quiet west Boston suburb of Allston could hardly be more different to Mônica Chianelli's native city of Rio de Janeiro. But it is the unlikely setting for Vida Verde, her house cleaning co-operative that is one of a growing number of successful Brazilian businesses in the US. Ms Chianelli had a small farm and a home-made pasta company in Brazil before giving up and leaving for the US. Despite the political furore surrounding immigration to the US, she and thousands of other Brazilians are finding the country more fertile terrain than home. .
Brain-Reading Headset to Sell for $299
How about controlling games with your thoughts instead? Later this year, Emotiv Systems Inc. plans to start selling the $299 EPOC neuroheadset to let you do just that. The headset's sensors are designed to detect conscious thoughts and expressions as well as "non-conscious emotions" by reading electrical signals around the brain, says the company, which demonstrated the wireless gadget at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The company, which unveiled a prototype last year, says the headset can detect emotions such as anger, excitement and tension, as well as facial expressions and cognitive actions like pushing and pulling objects. The headset will be sold with a game developed by Emotiv, but it can also be made to work with existing PC games, the company said.
