| Wacky World: Fancy Another Pie, Fatty?
We've all been there, it's a Saturday afternoon and your favourite team are on TV. You've parked yourself on the couch and convinced yourself not to move for anything. Nuclear war imminent? Who cares, it's about to kick off! No female within 100 yards? Check! Crate of cold beers? Check! Half time snack? ......Doh! But now there is no need to worry because home delivery pies from 'Simple Simon' have come to your rescue! These pies can be ordered online , over the phone, by fax and probably even by smoke signal (although don't quote us on that one). These delicious, nutritious (probably) and generously sized pies are then delivered to your door just in time for you to mute whichever mindless pundit is trying to explain the new version of the offside rule. Lovely Jubbly, so what's the catch? Well at the moment they're only available in Harvey Nichols so you'll probably have to re-mortgage the house to afford one.
Phelps learns to love mornings
Before Michael Phelps even knew there was such a concept as early person/late person, he was the embodiment of a night owl. His mother would try to wake him up - nicely, of course - for his dawn swim or his first class, and he would resist, silently, stubbornly, like almost any other teenager in captivity. Phelps, who will turn 23 in June, is one of the most famous Olympians in the world, with six gold medals and two bronzes in his possession. He is turning his biorhythms upside down because he will be swimming finals in the middle of the morning in August, courtesy of the collaboration between the organizers of the Beijing Summer Games and NBC, the American broadcaster. That's right, the nation that used to use sport to stimulate camaraderie between Chairman Mao speeches is now staging Olympic finals at the bizarre hour of 10 a.m.
Crusaders set for reshuffle
Right wing Poki strained a hamstring in the warm-ups before last Saturday's Super 14 match against the Stormers in Cape Town and will be sidelined for around two weeks. Centre Laulala injured his hamstring during the game and coach Robbie Deans said he may be in doubt for this Sunday night's fixture at Perth's Subiaco Stadium. "Casey himself is confident but we will wait to see how he pulls up. If doubtful we will not be risking him." Sean Maitland replaced Poki for the Stormers clash and Deans also has the option of selecting Scott Hamilton on the wing. He will join the squad in Perth today after missing the Cape Town fixture because of personal reasons. Caleb Ralph, who started on the left wing at Newlands, is an option to start at centre, as is Tim Bateman.

It's no secret that the oil industry has a less-than-sterling public image. BP Alternative Energy, a branch of UK-based oil titan BP, is hoping to help change that perception by collaborating with Electronic Arts on its virtual-world builder SimCity Societies, which will be released for PCs on November 15 in North America and Europe. The BP-EA collaboration will focus on the traditional crux of the SimCity franchise: money management. Players will be able to choose from a variety of energy sources while building their cities, but the cheaper resources will also produce the most carbon dioxide. City builders will have to keep an eye on the global-warming-inducing gas as their metropolises expand, because natural disasters will become more likely if the gas reaches a certain level.
