FAIRBORN — With the Barack Obama rally at the Nutter Center expected to draw between 10,000 and 12,000 people, Fairborn police expect routes near the event to be snarled with traffic. Doors were to open at the Nutter Center at 4 p.m. today, Feb. 25, and police "strongly encouraged" Obama-seekers to be there by that time if they wanted to get in. Get there after 4 p.m., and you probably won't be able to park. .
New Rolls-Royce Coupe Revealed
We should have known something was up. The invitation to a dinner hosted by Rolls-Royce in a private airport hangar, held during a four-day review of BMWs and Minis, instructed the 40 or so auto journalists to wear a jacket and tie. This group is not normally known for its sartorial splendor, after all. O.K., it's a Rolls event, we thought, so a little formality is understandable. The venue was transformed from a hangar to a reserved party atmosphere. No deafening music. No laser light shows. There was a modest display of current Rolls-Royce automobiles: the Phantom, Drophead Coupe, and Phantom stretch. Journalists were allowed to get a close look inside and out. The tables were set with enough crystal, china, and silver. It was a setting equal to an elegant wedding or, if we had known, a product launch.
Future possible for GOP’s should-be candidate
When Mitt Romney made his attempt at a graceful exit last week from the race for the Republican presidential nomination, he handed the convention to John McCain. For all his talk of conservative principles, he refused to give the other conservative with a shot at the party's nod — Huckabee — a chance to derail the McCain train. The political reality after Super Tuesday was that in order for McCain to lose, Romney or Huckabee would have to drop out. If, once Romney had made up his mind, he had decided to give his delegates to Huckabee and support him on the trail, the combined delegate count and resulting momentum would have had McCain quaking in his boots. Unfortunately, it's all speculation — despite Huckabee's scrappy wins in several Southern states since Feb.
Visclosky robbed outside grocery store
MERRILLVILLE | Police are looking for a man who robbed U.S. Rep. Pete Visclosky on Friday night outside a local supermarket."It was terrifying," the 11-term Democratic congressman from Merrillville said Saturday while describing the strong-arm robbery, which he said probably lasted less than a minute.Visclosky said he doesn't think his assailant knew him because a witness said the suspect had been hanging around the store for a while. "I think I was just a target of opportunity."Visclosky said the robbery happened shortly after 9 p.m. as he was walking alone with groceries to his car, which was parked outside the south Merrillville market."I was putting my grocery bag on the back seat when I was grabbed from behind. I never saw it coming. He told me to 'Give it up.' twice. I thought it was going to be a carjacking."He said the man, who he described as black and "shorter than me" demanded Visclosky's wallet and keys.

Brown prepared to ban plastic bags
Gordon Brown has given his strongest indication yet that he could outlaw free plastic bags. Writing in a national newspaper, the prime minister urged all major retailers to do more to eliminate single-use plastic bags. In November, Mr Brown told supermarkets they needed to find ways of cutting plastic use, with the government and retailers agreeing a voluntary commitment to cut plastic bag use by 25 per cent. Today Mr Brown praised Ikea's policies, which have seen it cut plastic bag use by 95 per cent, and Marks and Spencer's recent decision to charge for bags. Reportedly, ministers are prepared to legislate against single-use plastic bags if retailers cannot find ways of reducing their use. Legislation could be brought forward this year via an amendment to the climate change bill, which will set legally-binding targets to reduce UK carbon emissions.

Seattle Papers Differ On Terroristic Nature of ELF-suspected Arsons
I've had it with those spoiled brats out West, those green weenie idiots called the ELF. These people are burning down houses in the Pacific Northwest and it will only be a matter of time before they kill someone. We know they protest at every economic summit in the states. The next time they do, round them all up and throw 'em in jail, get them to talk about who is burning down buildings and what not. A little waterboarding would do them some good. Because they may be better off being caught by the government then being caught by everyday citizens. They wouldn't like that. .
Ulmers add to their breeding herd with four heifers
But then Friday, Feb. 22, the numbers fell as he took the calves he has been backgrounding to the sales barn in Edgeley.Jade had been out to Kellers since Saturday helping them get the cattle ready for the sale and Gary joined him out there on sale day."We went through them and picked out the ones we liked. We didn't get everyone we liked, but it turned out to be an okay day," Gary said. "We brought them home tonight. We drove a little slower, since it was a little nippy out there and we didn't want them to get too cold back there in the trailer, so it took us a little longer than normal to get home."Early last week, Gary rode along with a neighbor down to Aberdeen, S.D., and checked out a bred cow sale, but he returned home empty-handed from that sale. The weekend of Feb. 15-16, wife Tracy and children Jeremiah and Kendra attended the state wrestling tournament in Bismarck, which meant Gary was home alone to take care of the chores that needed doing and it also delayed marketing of the calves for one week.
Video: Gang members speak out
There is a big difference between a few old has-beens leaving the pub after too many light and bitters, singing Roll Out The Barrel and hugging one another before vomiting into the gutter and a large group of intimidating kids. I think you know that in your heart of hearts, mt. PS: nice to know you can still get out. .
